Subtropics is a duo of Belgian producers making their way into the tropical bass (hence: sub/tropics) realm, but not limited to one sound or BPM. Even though Subtropics was only founded in 2014, both Robin & Kris have been key players in the dj scene for years. The two gathered countless national solo titles, and even one solo world title in 2011. And collectively with DJ Jack, as The Mixfitz, they won the DMC World DJ Championship in 2012, and became vice world champions a year later. By that time, they had already decided to leave dj battles alone, and shift their focus to music production.

Since the first tryout show in 2014, they've been dropping tracks at a steady pace - visit their Soundcloud page to grab them all. Early 2015 saw the release of the first EP, aptly entitled 'Champion Sound Vol. 1', of which the lead single 'Party People' features the vocal talent of longtime associate Jaymee Blxks. The followup, 'Champion Sound Vol. 2' is also out now!

And in the summer of 2015, Subtropics already celebrated its first official release! Drum'n'bass don Netsky called on them for a moombahton remix of his summer smash 'Rio'. This Brazilian batucada flavoured version received some great acclaim, and got radio play all over the globe.

In early 2016, the second official release came on none other than Steve Aoki's infamous Dim Mak Records. Subtropics remixed the track 'Bucka', by Lady Bee & Noise Cans featuring vocals by dancehall legend Mr Vegas, and were included on the Beatport exclusive remix EP.

More official remixes are underway too, so keep your eyes and ears open for that true champion sound!
